Creating Beautiful Memories
Born and raised in the scenic town of Uralla, Jason Reading has always had a strong connection to the land. From a young age, he was drawn to the natural world, often exploring gardens, hills, and green spaces — sparking a lifelong passion for landscape design.
After relocating to the Hunter Valley, Jason founded Jason Reading Landscapes with a clear mission: to combine innovative design with sustainable construction practices, creating breathtaking outdoor spaces that enhance everyday living. With a sharp eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to quality, Jason quickly built a reputation for excellence across Newcastle, Maitland, and the greater Hunter region.

Meet the Founder, Jason
Jason Reading, founder of Jason Reading Landscapes, brings over 30 years of experience and a deep passion for transforming outdoor spaces. Raised in Uralla and now based in the Hunter Valley, Jason combines his strong connection to the land with a hands on, client first approach to landscape design and construction. Known for his attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to quality, Jason leads a skilled team that specialises in creating functional, beautiful landscapes that reflect each client’s unique vision. For Jason, landscaping isn’t just about building outdoor spaces—it’s about enhancing lives and creating beautiful memories.
“For me, landscaping has always been about more than just plants and paving. It’s about creating spaces where families and friends can connect, unwind, and make lasting memories. Every project is a chance to bring someone’s vision to life in a way that’s thoughtful, functional, and built to last.” - Jason Reading
A Journey from the Bush to the Coast
Jason's story didn't start with a business plan. Growing up in the bush, he was drawn to the land itself long before he ever thought about landscaping as a career; the space, the change of seasons, the feeling of working with your hands outdoors. Moving to the coast and discovering landscape design and construction gave that instinct somewhere to go, and it's shaped everything he's built since.
What drives Jason most is simple: helping people. He believes the memories made with the people you love are priceless, and some of his own favourite memories with family and friends have been made outdoors. With more than half of his six kids now working alongside him, the business has become something closer to family than work. He loves creating those memories for clients, watching his team grow, and doing it all with his family by his side.
