Client Goals
Domaine Homes engaged Jason Reading Landscapes to bring their landscape vision for the Nevada display home to life. The brief was clear: create a contemporary, functional, and visually dynamic outdoor environment that would showcase the home to prospective buyers while remaining easy to maintain.
The design intent focused on clean lines, curated materials, and layered textures. Key elements included exposed and coloured concrete, decorative gravel, synthetic turf, built-in fire pit areas, and structured planting with drought-tolerant species. Every aspect of the landscape needed to align with the home’s modern architecture while delivering broad lifestyle appeal.
Challenges and Site Conditions
While the site presented a relatively flat building envelope with excellent access, initial conditions required significant site preparation. Builder’s debris, compacted subsoil, poor drainage, and general construction waste had to be cleared to establish a clean, workable canvas.
The project also came with a non-negotiable completion date, requiring coordination with other trades, strict adherence to the landscape plan, and efficient execution. Working in tandem with Domaine Homes site supervisors and trades, our team maintained momentum through tight scheduling and shared site access.
Customised Solutions by Jason Reading Landscapes
Our in-house team carried out the full scope of landscaping works, including:
- Earthworks and removal of builder waste
- Subsoil remediation and turf underlay preparation
- Installation of subsurface drainage systems and Agline
- Retaining walls using charcoal Versawall blocks on reinforced concrete footings
- Structured planting with imported premium soil, slow-release fertiliser, and Forest Fines mulch
- Supply and lay of premium Sir Walter DNA Certified turf
- Construction of exposed and coloured concrete driveways and paths with dual-tone spray seal
- Decorative paver installation using Adbri Euro Stone pavers throughout front and rear
- Installation of aluminium vertical slat screening for privacy and visual interest
- Gravel infill paths and firepit area with natural sandstone tones
- Concrete broom-finished side path and treated pine edging to separate soft and hardscape zones
Despite ongoing on-site activity from other trades, our experienced crew delivered all elements seamlessly, on time, and on budget.
